Technically Precise Winders: Orbita Winders are the most technically precise winders made.
We hope this information is useful to you and to thank us you simply need to buy from us. We get paid for our advice and education only if you buy from us. If we need to beat a competitors price just send an email telling us the competitors name and the price and we will match price and terms they offer or we will tell you to buy from them if we can not match it. The competitor must actually stock the item, most do not...Make sure to read their website fine print, many competitors say "Free Shipping" and they give it on small watches and watchbands but in fine print tell you on WatchWinders you will be billed after the fact. Also be careful to purchase only from Authorized dealers like ourselves because watchwinders are mechanical and they do break and warranty coverage is important. We are the only store you should even consider when looking for a watchwinder. We are the watchwinder experts.
USA based Orbita Watch Winders makes 2 styles or Watch Winders. The fully programable style, the industry standard 360 degree spinning winder head style and their new patented Sparta RotorWind System. Which uses gravity and pendulum motion not 360 degree rotational winding like most winders. Orbita makes the best winder product on the market. If you need a "Value" product consider the Eilux Watch Winders. Eilux winders are every bit as quiet, dependable and will wind every watch, though the Eilux models are not "fully programmable" as are the Orbita models. With winders you get what you pay for.
Since they work differently than the "Typical Industry Standard Watch Winder" the Sparta Series of Winders by Orbita are in a category all alone. They work using a patented RotorWind system which instead of spinning like a drill head as do other winders, the Sparta Series swings in pendulum fashion, just like the human arm and wrist while wearing a watch. Therefore the Sparta Series do not require precise setting or researching winding needs. Just set it and forget it, the Sparta Winder series senses what your watch needs and winds it correctly every time for every watch! These Winders are sold at a premium price point, because they are a premium product. Nothing compares!
Automatic Watches are notoriously inaccurate. A $10 quartz watch keeps more accurate time than a $10,000 Automatic, however a watchwinder can help to mitigate the time loss and gain issues of automatics. The cheap watch winders sold all over the Internet and eBay will not be able to do this. They probably will not hurt your watch. Over-winding is really not the issue, appropriate winding is more the issue. Don't just take my word for it, read this: Chronocentric: Dispelling myths and misconceptions about how well a good watch tells time
Look, you do not need a watchwinder. But lets face it, you are not a customer limited by your needs! You own a Swiss Automatic Watch for gosh sakes! You are not a poor man! (Woman). This is about convenience and quality of life. A top notch watchwinder will keep more accurate time than an entry level watchwinder.
No watchwinder will keep perfect time because not even a Tourbillion Automatic Watch keeps perfect time! A fully programmable watch winder allows you to fine tune the winder to keep the watch at peek accuracy. Read your manual, all automatics will gain or loose time, but a good winder will limit that to a 10 minute adjustment instead of days and days of adjustments! The top of the line most sophisticated watch winder is the Orbita Tourbillion, followed by the Orbita Siena and Monaco series and the Sparta RotorWind system. Then all the others! If we do not sell the brand you should not buy the watch winder. If we do sell it, basically ask yourself if you are a believer in "buy the best ditch the rest" or if you are a Walmart shopper. Low Price has a high cost! With winders you really do get what you pay for. The more it costs the better it is, if we sell it, if we do not sell it. Forget it!
One of the most notable features of the TOURBILLON watchwinder is its ability to make any mechanical watch, in effect, a Tourbillon watch. Each cycle, or turn of the winder, ends up with the watch positioned in a new incremental position. For example, a watch in its mounting cup rotates 390º in each cycle and then comes to rest for a short period of time. The succeeding cycles each repeat the 390º rotation resulting in 30º steps. After 12 cycles the watch has circumscribed a full 360º. This action, like that of the Tourbillon within a wrist or pocket watch, cancels out the effect of gravity on a watches balance wheel mechanism. Supreme accuracy is assured when the watch remains on the winder for extended periods.

Maybe you do not know your watches winding requirements? In that case we provide a list of links to Orbita Watch Winders Watch Database, where hopefully you can find your watch listed. Then buy a winder from us.
We strongly recommend you buy an Orbita Watch Winder, they are considered to be the best Winders made. Spend more get more. Spend less get less or get a mess. Do not repeat do not every buy a winder on ebay or some cheap fly by night website, unless of course that is where you buy your Swiss Automatic Watches. My watches are too nice to trust to a garbage winder, and I value my sleep time and I can not sleep with a grinding motor running....
These winders are quite simply the best. They have all the bells and whistles that are required for someone with a watch who wants to meet the exact winding requirements of their watches and not get simply "good enough" service from a winder. Keeping that in mind, do not expect these winders to be inexpensive. They are not cheap. They will last for years, 10 years of service I think is a reasonable expectation, versus a year with a cheap winder or 5 years with a mid level priced winder.
But high quality is not the reason these winders are listed on this page, this page includes winders which are programmable to the precise winding needs for your watch, no over winding. These Winders also require someone who is a little bit technically competent. These Winders are designed by and for people who understand and respect the complexities and intricacies of fine Swiss automatic watches someone who can read technical documents, and someone who enjoys such things. Sometimes finding the winding needs for your watch is not possible and you have to discover it with trial and error. Start at the highest TPD (turns per day) winding setting and try all 3 directional settings by trial and error. Put the watch on wait 2-3 days, or until the watch stops. If it stops the direction is wrong so try another direction. After you determine the directional requirements tune the winders TPD timer down to the needed minimal turns per day. Hopefully you will get lucky and your watch is listed in the Orbita Watch Database click on one of the links we provide, it will open the page in a new window and our page will remain here for you to return and shop.
Look up your watches winding needs with Orbita’s Watch Database of Watch Winding requirements. Watch Brands are organized below by Alphabetical Order.
Find the First Letter, for the Brand, like R for Rolex…Beside each letter is a partial listing of watch brands included in the link. Click and look up your watch, not every watch is listed in the database, there are just too many watches made each year, but this includes the most popular brands. If your watch is not listed, call the watch manufacturer and usually they will tell you (with some cajoling, be persistent).
