(Hold a total of 6, 2 automatics for winding and 4 others just for storage.) The 2.0 Module simulates wearing a watch, allowing it to wind and unwind. Watch lubricants need to be evenly distributed within the watch; a watch left for days in a drawer or a safe is not a good situation.
The Watch Winder can be set to wind in any of 3 directional settings; clockwise, counter-clockwise or bi-directionally, depending on the needs of your watch. The winder can be set up to not run at all while you are sleeping making it the quietest winder you can use in your bedroom! The normal operation of the watchwinder in bi-directional mode is: The winder actively cycles on and off for 7 hours and then is Dormant 17 hours. Both modes are critical for proper maintenance of fine automatic watches. In active mode the watch winder runs for 20 minutes clockwise, then pauses briefly and winds 20 minutes counter-clockwise, and then rests for 70 minutes. This on off cycling continues for 7 hours. Then the watch winder goes into a 17 hour Dormant (sleep) cycle. This critical sleep cycle allows the mainspring to almost completely unwind, thus simulating the natural winding and unwinding which occurs with normal wear. This prevents the mainspring from loosing its resiliency. Winding constantly would damage the watches rotor and mainspring.
